They say, “a cook is defined by the taste of the meal”. You may wonder how some burgers just get to taste better than the others luckily I have a secrete recipe and today we’ll learn how to prepare a tasty Burger. It’s not difficult all you have to do is follow the simple technique below.
Getting the utensils ready.
Wash your hands and get Utensils clean and ready. You may think this is not necessary but if by any chance one utensil is not yet prepared and ready during the preparation period, it can go a long way to affect the outcome of the meal. Therefore before preparation, make sure cooking equipment are ready.
Begin using the Right Beef.
As I earlier mentioned, the secrete to the best burgers starts from the type of beef used during the preparation. I suggest you get a freshly ground beef (high-grade).
Chuck your beef in an 80/20 mix. Then find a flat tray to spread the beef and then add salt and pepper to season.
Add any other ingredient you think will help the beef taste (I suggest Chopped bacon or Worcestershire sauce) should be added immediately. Toss gently.
Preparing (making) the Patties.
This requires “gentle touch” permit me to use the word. With due gentleness gauge about 5-6 ounces of meat and with care lightly toss from on hand to another, thereby forming a shape of a ball.
Patting into a disk.
The size of the patty should probably be the same width as your bun and then about three over four (3/4) to one (1) inch thick.
Important tip (my secret technique).
Use your thumb to make “divots” in the middle of the burgher to enable it maintain its shape while it is cooking.
The patties can be prepared before use and be stored/chilled/kept in a refrigerator or a freezer till needed.
Using a medium or medium-high heat (direct), heat the grill. Apply oil on the grate using a neutral-flavored either vegetable or canola.
After a while the oil begins the smoke then it’s time to add the burgers. Ensure the burgers are ready in the room at the temperature, apply season again using salt and pepper.
Place the burgers on the grill and leave them for a while. Avoid pressing down for a juice burger. Cover the grill.
Start flipping immediately the burger releases from the grate without sticking. Cook for about 5 minutes each side to achieve a medium burger. You can allow a little longer till you achieve your desired outcome .
It’s time to introduce cheese. Adding cheese will be a lot easier if you follow this step. You’ll have to move the burger to the cooler side of the grill.
Top with cheese and then cover (the grill) wait for a minute, this will help melt the cheese.
Place the patties on buns, add other toppings. Your burger is ready to serve.
